This is what the cutout looks like for the Cardlock 1000/1100 and RF1500.

If you are installing any BeLine lock and it is your first time and you don’t have a mortise drill, it is highly recommended you purchase the Universal Cover Plate.  The Universal Cover Plate cuts down on installation time and it eliminates the need for high precision when cutting your door.  With the Universal Cover Plate the person installing simply attaches the plate to the door and cuts out appropriate sections of the door to allow the door lock to mount to the plate.

Using the Universal Cover Plate also strengthens the door.
